Notification 2007-084

Dear Madam/Sir, In recommendation XII/1, paragraph 2(b)(ii), the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) requested the Executive Secretary enhance support for updating of the Source Book through the inclusion of additional case studies that relate to all the programmes of work of the Convention and all economic sectors and that demonstrate the benefits and trade-offs of the use of the ecosystem approach in achieving the 2010 target and the Millennium Development Goals. In response to this request, the Executive Secretary wishes to invite Parties and other Governments to encourage national experts to submit case studies as described. Case studies should be submitted by the experts directly into the Ecosystem Approach Sourcebook following the instructions on: http://www.cbd.int/ecosystem/sourcebook/default.shtml I look forward to our continued collaboration in the enhanced implementation of the work of the Convention.
