Technical Report on National/Regional Environmental Funds: Call for Papers.

Dear Madam/Sir, A Technical Report on National/Regional Environmental Funds is being prepared by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity to facilitate the implementation of Decision VIII/13, paragraph 7, in which the Conference of the Parties recommended to Parties, Governments and funding institutions, as appropriate, the promotion, and fostering of new national and regional environmental funds and strengthening/expanding such existing funds, and further to encourage knowledge transfer and exchange about these mechanisms, through the creation and/or strengthening of national and international learning networks or communities. The Technical Report will present a compilation of general information pertinent to national/regional environmental funds, as well as their impacts, challenges, lessons learned and outlooks. It gives me pleasure to invite you to contribute with a paper to exchange knowledge and experience, and explore principal issues related to the above report. You will find attached the suggested outline for papers on National/Regional Environmental Funds. Prospective contributors are encouraged to advise the Secretariat of their intention to make a submission in advance. The deadline for submission of papers is 15 October 2007.
