Dear Madam/Sir, The purpose of this notification is to convey the following message from the Evaluation Office of the Global Environment Facility: The GEF Council decided in September 2005 to request the Evaluation Office (at that time the Office of Monitoring and Evaluation), in collaboration with the Secretariat and Implementing and Executing Agencies, to prepare for Council consideration a Mid-Term Evaluation of the Resource Allocation Framework after two years of implementation. We are now beginning the preparation for the Mid-Term Evaluation and have prepared an approach paper and invite you to provide comments. The comments that we receive on the approach paper will feed into the development of a terms of reference for the Mid-Term Evaluation. This is the first opportunity for you to give inputs and there will be further opportunities to provide comments on the terms of reference in late August and September 2007. Please note that the terms of reference will be presented to Council in November 2007. All comments on the approach paper should be sent to RAFevaluation@thegef.org by August 17th 2007.
