Notification 2008-137

Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to inform you that after careful consideration of all nominations, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in consultation with the Bureau of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) has approved the list of experts for the expert workshop on integrating protected areas into wider land- and seascapes. The list of selected experts is attached and includes: experts nominated by Parties, experts nominated by organizations, and resource people. The selection of experts was conducted according to criteria listed in notification 2008-115 (Ref.: SCBD/STTM/SBG/LJ/64864) and taking into account gender balance and geographical distribution. The workshop will be held from 1 to 4 November 2008 on the Isle of Vilm in Germany, and will be convened with the generous financial support of the Government of the Netherlands.
