Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the electronic consultation on a proposed consolidated list of guidance to the financial mechanism, which is available at: http://www.cbd.int/financial/draft-decision/, and will run from 10 June to 9 July 2010. The invitation code is: GEF-GUIDANCE. The third meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (WGRI-3) suggested to the Executive Secretary to undertake an electronic consultation with Parties on a proposed consolidated list of guidance to the financial mechanism, and prepare a draft decision on the issue for consideration by the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention (COP 10). The electronic consultation seeks to promote exchange of views on the draft consolidation of all the decisions related to the financial mechanism that have been adopted by the Conference of the Parties from its first to ninth meetings. The draft implies a reduction of the whole set of guidance to the financial mechanisms from 65 pages to 10 pages, without altering the substantive provisions of the existing decisions.
