Dear Madam/Sir, The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) invites Parties, other governments and relevant organizations to submit examples of best practices for addressing invasive alien species introduced as pets, aquarium and terrarium species, and as live bait and live food (COP decision X/38 A, paragraph 3 a ). The information provided in these submissions will be considered by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice prior to the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties. This information should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 16 August 2011. I would like to thank you in advance for your useful and informative contributions.
