Notification 2014-041

Dear Madam/Sir, I would like to invite your kind attention to earlier notifications 2014-019 of 4 February 2014 (http://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2014/ntf-2014-019-financial-en.pdf) and 2013-050 of 25 June 2013 (http://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2013/ntf-2013-050-rm-en.pdf), requesting Parties and other Governments to submit information for the review of implementation of the strategy for resource mobilization. I would like to thank Parties and other Governments that have already sent their submissions. Considering the numerous requests received for extension of deadline, I am pleased to inform you that the deadline for submissions has been extended to 6 April 2014, in order to ensure the timely preparation of documentation for consideration by the fifth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention. I wish to invite Parties and other Governments that have not yet done so to submit pertinent information by this date latest. I take this opportunity to remind you that the notifications above also invited comments on the preliminary reporting framework, baseline information for each of the targets, and on funding needs, gaps and priorities, as well as the submission of views on the discussion paper on Safeguards for Scaling-up Biodiversity Financing and Possible Guiding Principles (UNEP/CBD/COP/11/INF/7). Parties and other Governments that have not yet done so are also encouraged to provide their comments and views by 6 April 2014.
