Hands-on Training Course on Rapid Identification of Invasive Alien Species for Achieving Aichi Biodiversity Target 9, Guelph, Canada, for four-week sessions during the period from July to October 2016

Dear Madam/Sir, Following the participation of trainees and the completion of the online component of the training course on the application of DNA barcoding in detection and monitoring of priority invasive alien species, pests and zoonotic disease vectors, I am pleased to announce that, thanks to the generous financial support of the Government of Japan through the Japan Biodiversity Fund, the second phase of the four-week training, the hands-on training component in standard DNA barcoding protocols, which is made up of three groups of five participants per four-week sessions, will be organized between July and October 2016 at the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario in Guelph, Canada. Taking into consideration the active participation of trainees and the limited space available at the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario, fifteen trainees have been selected in consultation with the GTI Coordination Mechanism. The list of selected trainees is annexed to the present notification. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
