Notification 2016-096

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to notification 2016-055 (www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2016/ntf-2016-055-bs-en.pdf), dated 3 May 2016, inviting Parties, other Governments and relevant organizations to provide necessary information to a survey on the progress and suggestions regarding the necessary revision or revamping of the elements of the programme of work on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of living modified organisms. The programme of work is available at http://bch.cbd.int/protocol/cpb_art23_pow.shtml. In view of the limited number of submissions to the Secretariat, I am pleased to inform you that the deadline has been extended so that Parties, other Governments and relevant organizations that have not yet done so can respond to the survey at their earliest convenience but no later than 2 September 2016.
