Notification 2016-140

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to notification 2016-126, issued on 19 October 2016, inviting developing country Parties and Parties with economies in transition to submit requests for assistance under the Bio-Bridge Initiative. In view of the limited number of the requests received by the Secretariat to date and the fact that no requests have been received from some of the regions, I am pleased to inform you that the deadline for submission of requests has been extended to 30 November 2016. Parties that have specific technical and scientific needs are invited to submit their requests for assistance using the form available at: http://www.cbd.int/biobridge/request.shtml. The completed request form should be sent by e-mail to secretariat@cbd.int. Given the limited financial resources available, requests with confirmed or pledged co-financing are strongly encouraged.
