Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services: Invitation to review draft note as well to as submit proposals for requests for the next work programme of the Platform

Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to invite Parties and observers to provide inputs to the list of requests for the second work programme of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, which will be considered by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice at its twenty-second meeting (Under agenda item 12, accessible from https://www.cbd.int/doc/meetings/sbstta/sbstta-22/official/sbstta-22-01-add1-en.pdf ). To facilitate such inputs, the Secretariat has prepared a consultation document (Accessible from https://www.cbd.int/sbstta22-sbi2/review.shtml) for review. To provide comments on this document, please use the template accessible at the web page noted in the footnote and return it to the Secretariat by e-mail at secretariat@cbd.int or by fax at: +1 514 288 6588. Additional inputs, including any proposals for requests to the Platform, may also be provided. The deadline for review comments and other inputs is 5 April 2018. The official document for consideration by the Subsidiary Body will be prepared, taking into account peer review comments and proposals for requests to the Platform, as well as the outcomes of the sixth session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Medellin, Colombia, 18–24 March 2018). I would also like to take this opportunity to remind Parties and organizations that, in accordance with notification 2017-134 (https://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2017/ntf-2017-134-sbstta22-sbi2-en.pdf), other draft documents prepared for the twenty-second meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice and the second meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation are being made available for peer review at the web page noted in the footnote below.
