Core Programme Budget of the Nagoya Protocol: Scale of assessment for the apportionment of expenses for 2022

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to decision NP-4/1 of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-sharing on the budget for the integrated programme of work of the Secretariat, which adopted the scale of assessments as per United Nations General Assembly resolution 73/271 for the apportionment of expenses for 2022, noting that a new scale of assessments for the triennium 2022-2024 was expected to be approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 2021 and would be applied, when released, to calculate the assessed contributions for 2022. The United Nations General Assembly resolution 76/238, adopted on 24 December 2021, sets out the scale of assessments for 2022-2024. The scale of assessments for the Nagoya Protocol for 2022 has been updated accordingly and is attached to this notification. Updated scales of assessments have also been prepared for the budgets of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Cartagena Protocol and are issued in notifications 2022-003 and 2022-004, respectively. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
