Notification 2022-059

Fair on Experiences and Best Practices in Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) at the UN Biodiversity Conference, Montreal, Canada, December 2022

Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to inform you that the 2022 edition of the Fair on Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA), will take place from 8 to 10 December 2022 in Montreal, Canada, on the margins of the Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Tenth meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol and the Fourth meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol (together, known as the United Nations Biodiversity Conference). Specific themes, modalities of participation and other details are provided in the CEPA Fair Guide (https://www.cbd.int/article/cepa/fair/guide). The Guide will be updated as new information becomes available. The Secretariat invites Parties, other governments and relevant organizations, including those representing indigenous peoples and local communities, to express their interest to participate at the CEPA Fair at their earliest convenience, but no later than 16 October 2022, by completing the proposal form available at www.cbd.int/cepa/fair or by sending a message to cepa.fair@cbd.int. Please note that, due to time constraints and restricted room capacity, participation on site will be limited. The Secretariat reserves the right to select the participants. Due to the above-mentioned limitations, participants are also invited to organize virtual events across time zones by holding dialogues, sharing video presentations, multimedia products, and more. Participants are encouraged to share these with the Secretariat for inclusion into the CEPA Fair programme. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
