Item 6. Updated scientific assessment of progress towards selected Aichi Biodiversity Targets and options to accelerate progress

Background: SBSTTA will consider documentation summarizing an assessment of progress towards the Aichi Biodiversity Targets based on recent scientific literature and making use of global indicators. It will also consider documentation providing an overview of relevant information arising from the regional assessments, and the thematic assessment on land degradation, of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, and any implications for the work of the Convention.
