Kabahagi: An IDBD 2022 Capture Quest and Launching of the Year of the Protected Areas  

The Kabahagi: An IDBD Capture Quest is a photo contest that will highlight not only some featured Philippine
protected areas but will also showcase the photographic talent and ingenuity of the Regional and Field Offices staff of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of the Philippines.

The launching of the Year of the Protected Areas (YoPA), on the other hand, shall serve as the highlight of the 2022 IDBD celebration on May 23, 2022. The YoPA is  a year-long awareness raising campaign that will promote Philippine national parks. A  joint declaration between the Philippines' Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Tourism will be signed during the launching of the Year of the Protected Areas.
