Preparatory Events on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions

In preparation for COP 16, several key events were organized to address issues related to Article 8(j) and related provision of the Convention. These events brought together Party representatives, indigenous peoples and local communities, as well as people of African descent, and stakeholders to engage in substantive discussions on traditional knowledge, innovations, and practices in biodiversity conservation, particularly in the context of the development of the new programme of work on Article 8(j) and other provisions of the Convention, and its institutional arragement.
