Resumed sessions of the 2024 UN Biodiversity Conference - Adoption of the Integrated Budget of the Convention and its Protocols by Silence Procedure

Following the suspension of the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol, and the fifth meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol (UN Biodiversity Conference 2024) in Cali, Colombia, the President of the Conference of the Parties and the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol, and the President of the meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol, in agreement with the COP Bureau and with the support of the Secretariat, will put the decision of the integrated budget for the Convention and its Protocols forward for adoption by silence procedure on 3 to 6 December 2024 on the basis of the draft decisions contained in the L documents. 

An additional decision for the Convention and for each of the protocols related to covering the costs of the in-person resumed sessions will also be put forward for adoption by a silence procedure during the same period. 

Should another silence period be necessary, it would take place from 10 to 13 December 2024.
