  Beach Safari - Explore the Shore
26 May 2012, Grattan Beach, Salthill, Galway

This is your chance to explore your local shore with experts from the Galway Branch of the Irish Wildlife Trust and Galway Atlantaquaria and in conjunction with Galway City Council. Everybody is welcome including families.

Come along and see some of the creatures and plants that inhabit the rockpools and sand along the Irish coastline. Bring your binoculars as well and see how many types of birds you can spot. With experts on hand to help identify and talk about the inhabitants of the shore this will be a fun day out for everybody.

Bealtaine Festival 2013
Ireland’s premier biodiversity festival, the Bealtaine Festival of Outdoor Science runs this year from the 20th May to the 27th May and again includes International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22. The festival is supported by the Heritage Council.

This will be the 9th year of the festival and to date we have had hundreds of events introducing thousands of people to the outstanding natural resources of the Southeast of Ireland. Read more.
