Action Zone at COP 17

Yerevan, Armenia, COP 17 Blue Zone

The Action Zone space at COP17 will bring together major CBD constituencies through dedicated space to gather, in the Blue Zone, panel discussions, dialogues, side events and other interactive sessions aimed at promoting multistakeholder engagement, exchange of experiences and collaboration across sectors and stakeholder groups in support of the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).

Situated in a large hall at the heart of the conference venue, the Action Zone includes three main components:

• Exhibition space featuring 8 hubs for the use of different constituencies and stakeholder groups, including: 
  • Academic and research organizations
  • Business and finance
  • Faith-based organizations
  • Indigenous peoples and local communities
  • International NGOs
  • Subnational and local authorities
  • Women
  • Youth
     
• A lounge area at the center of the space where participants can network or have small gatherings, and

• An associated ‘Action Zone Auditorium’ for dedicated sessions with a collaborative agenda during the week of 19-23 October among the many constituency groups and stakeholders. 

   

Action Zone Auditorium (19 - 23 October)

The Action Zone Auditorium will also be located in the Blue Zone and accessible to all registered participants. The Auditorium programme will be developed collaboratively with the constituencies, with each group responsible for organizing and curating activities during their respective allocated date and time slots.
