Notification 2026-056

Dear Sir or Madam,

 Reference is made to notification 2026-051, issued on 12 June 2026, in which Parties, indigenous peoples and local communities and observers to nominate representatives to participate in the Kunming dialogue on collective progress in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework in support of the global review, which will take place on 7‑9 September 2026 with a day for regional consultations on 6 September 2026. While the venue is proposed to be Kunming, China, this remains subject to final confirmation. 

I would like to thank those who have already submitted nominations and encourage those who have not yet done so to submit them at their earliest convenience, given the upcoming Dialogue. I am also pleased to inform you that the deadline for submissions has been extended to 7 July 2026.

Kindly note that further information regarding the meeting and the registration processes will be provided by email to selected participants.  All nomination letters and registration forms should be submitted to the Secretariat by e-mail to: secretariat@cbd.int, as soon as possible and by 7 July 2026. Due to the time needed for visa applications and for planning the dialogue, it will not be possible to accept late applications for in-person participation, and it will not be possible to provide financial support for any requests submitted after the deadline. 

Please also note that the Convention’s online registration tool (Kronos) will be used for the registration process. Documents and relevant information to the dialogue will be made available at the following webpage https://www.cbd.int/meetings/IMP-OM-2026-02 in due course.
