Biosafety Clearing-House Training Workshop

The BCH training workshop is organized by the Secretariat of the CBD and is being offered to the National Focal Points and National Authorized Users for the Biosafety Clearing-House (BCH), the Cartagena National Focal Points from all country Parties to the Cartagena Protocol, other Governments, and interested stakeholders.

The workshop aims to: 

  • Provide general information on the BCH, its relevance to the Cartagena Protocol, and its role in the exchange of information about decisions on living modified organisms;
  • Present the BCH interface and provide hands-on training on searching and submitting information, including discussion sessions about the BCH;
  • Provide participants with information about activities of biosafety-related organizations.

Preparation for the workshop

1. IMPORTANT: Make sure to bring your laptops to the workshop to be able to participate in hands-on training.

2. If you do not have a CBD account, please create one at: https://accounts.cbd.int/signup. Make sure you enter all the information required as instructed on the form and click “Submit”. You will automatically receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your account.

You will be able to access the BCH, other clearing-houses and the CBD website with the same CBD account.
