On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2008, the French Government presented a second report on the implementation of national commitments to halt biodiversity erosion by 2010.

The “Ministère de l’Ecologie, de l’Energie, du Développement durable et de l’Aménagement du territoire” (Ministry of Environment) is currently hosting a photo exhibition on biodiversity by photographer Pierre Douay.

The Ministry also disseminated a poster, "la Prairie, haut lieu de Biodiversité", to echo the theme of IBD 2008, Biodiversity and Agriculture.

After IBD, the “Fête de la Nature” took place throughout French territories during the week-end 25-26 May 2008.
