We celebrate the International Biodiversity Day on May 22, 2018 - celebrate with us! Austria is one of the most biodiverse countries in Europe! A total of 75,000 species, including about 50,000 animal and 3,000 plant species occur here. This enormous biodiversity forms the basis of our lives, creates numerous products and (ecosystem) services that we use on a daily basis, but is exposed to exponential loss due to our unsustainable lifestyle. With free admission, we invite you to celebrate the International Biodiversity Day on the Pentecost Tuesday from 1 pm in the Natural History Museum in Vienna. Popular scientific lectures and a subsequent panel discussion provide information on topics related to Austria's biodiversity. Regional exhibitors present the variety of Austrian products and invite to a "Biodiversity Tasting". The parallel children's program "Motley apple fun" by Open Science also allows families to take advantage of the offer. We are looking forward to your visit!
