The Biodiversity Indicators Partnership is actively working to support implementation of the recommendations of SBSTTA 15/1 at global, regional and national scales with respect to indicator development and use. This side event supports Agenda Item 3, ‘Implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and progress towards the Aichi Biodiversity Targets’ by providing updates on: • Global indicator development – updated indicators and an enhanced indicator set for monitoring progress towards the Aichi Targets • National indicators for NBSAP revision – an overview of regional capacity building workshops supporting the identification and use of indicators for monitoring progress towards national targets and reporting on national implementation of the Strategic Plan.
