The Aldeias Vigilantes (Vigilant Villages) Project is being carried out in the Brazilian state of Acre. The project consists in empowering indigenous communities and establishing a communication system in order to prevent acts of biopiracy. Represntatives of Amazonlink and the Ministry of Environment will provide an overview of the project. Representatives of indigenous organisations that participate in the project will inform about their approach to concerns like biodiversity, traditional knowledge and biopiracy.
