Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8)

Areas of biodiversity significance being conserved by communities are spread across the world. Though the CBD Programme of Work on Protected Areas requires Parties to recognise and support these, there is much that needs to be done in policy and practice to take this forward. The event will highlight what some countries have already done in this regard, and look into future steps that all countries could take.
