Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8)

IUCN and invited speakers will highlight recent scientific discoveries about life in the open ocean and deep seabed beyond national jurisdiction and provide an update on discussions at the UNGA open-ended informal Working Group on issues related to marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiciton held in February 2006. The event will also launch a new brochure by UNEP and IUCN on these issues.
