Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8)

A series of speakers will outline experiences from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico in implementing projects through botanic gardens in support of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation. Key areas will be community native plant conservation projects, environmental education initiatives, staff training and institutional strengthening initiatives. The importance of external funding for such initiatives will be reviewed by Botanic Gardens Conservation International which has facilitated support for such projects through the HSBC Investing in Nature Initiative.
