The growing interest for traditional ecological knowledge at all levels is generating significant demand for information, case studies and research. In France, approaches based on the concepts of heritage and the terroir have been developed, thus making it possible to better understand, conserve and promote ecological knowledge and associated biodiversity. They open the way to collective, concise and critical thinking on the issue of Geographical indications as a tool to promote TEK and conservation of biodiversity.
