The event will be in the form of a local case study presentation on the magnitude of pollution effects in lakes and will open the floor for recommendations. Qaroun Lake is located in Fayoum Governorate, one of the largest natural lakes in Egypt and the world. It covers an area of 1385 square kilometers. It is one of the deepest lakes, with depths of up to 14 meters, with saltwater fish and fresh water. There are some major problems encountered. The first of these problems was the steady increase in salinity of the lake and the accompanying environmental changes, such as the sharp decline in biodiversity, the decline in fish production, the increase in tourism activities, the density of population activities and the pollution associated with them.  Also the transmission of some types of harmful jellyfish to the lake, and the flow of pollutants to the lake through the banks, whether sewage or pesticides, in addition to the dumping of the remnants of fish farms scattered around the lake for its residues which led to the formation of sediments in the lake. The pollution of Lake Qarun due to the 88 villages directly sewage on the lake and the elimination of fish wealth after the spread of the parasite Bkhayashim fish caused the death of the catastrophe of the presence of the parasite Isoboda in the pretext coming from the Mediterranean Sea. The beginning of the problem was in 2013, where the fry was planted with the parasite and small jellyfish in the lake without the work of nurseries or the necessary examination of the fry with the spread of pollution by the lake and the high salinity, in addition to it is a closed lake spread the parasite and caused the death of fish. In gills or on skin and crusts. The number of fishermen in Lake Qaroun is 5,000 fishermen distributed on 605 fishing boats. A large number of fishermen have abandoned the lake to other provinces. Due to the deterioration of the lake's fish resources.
