At its June 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM), CCICED marked its 30^th anniversary.  Since 1992, CCICED has brought together hundreds of leading Chinese and international biodiversity, climate, pollution abatement and other experts, in the spirit of international cooperation to support multilateralism.

CCICED has been working on several key aspects of the Kunming process for several years.  Of note, recent CCICED Special Policy Studies and Scoping Studies include:

• Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Conservation;
• Green value chains, with a focus on sustainable sourcing of soft commodity chains to tackle deforestation, habitat loss and biodiversity loss;
• Ecological Compensation and Green Development in the Yangtze River Basin;
• Sustainable Oceans, and Conservation Finance.

This event intends to: 1) facilitate the sharing of research, expertise, and senior-level engagement to seek synergies for the successful implementation of biodiversity and climate policy frameworks in the broader context of south-south/international cooperation; 2) to highlight the achievements of CCICED over the past 30 years and to keep engaging broader stakeholders for inputs to ensure future success. So as to provide policy recommendations for post-2020 biodiversity conservation.
