Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities are key partners to achieve the 2050 vision: living in harmony with nature. The post-2020 global biodiversity framework should benefit and recognize their contributions at the local level. The side-event provides their views on the current draft of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Panelists will address issues related to traditional knowledge (Target 20), customary sustainable use (Target 4, 5, 9), the contribution to conservation of biodiversity (Targets 1, 2, and 3), equitable participation (Target 21), and access to benefit-sharing (Goal C, and 13), among others Targets and Goals of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.
