The Montreal Call

Endorsed at COP15 by the city of Montreal, the government of Quebec, the Cree Nation Government and the government of Canada, along with dozens of other organisations, the Montreal Call acknowledges : the urge to address the underlying causes of biodiversity loss ; the need to operate transformative changes in our socio-economic system, and our system of values ; the wish to facilitate visions of a good life that are not based on an unsustainable increase in material extraction and consumption. The Montreal Call is an invitation to discuss solutions to the underlying causes of biodiversity loss : what changes need to happen in our economic, financial and monetary systems ? How do we transition from an extractive economy to a stabilized economy ? What societal values are compatible with the preservation of biodiversity ? Join the discussion !
