Participants will learn from success stories from countries on finance and policy results emerging from their biodiversity finance plan implementation from across the planet. This will also be an opportunity to discuss how to integrate finance into new NBSAPs aligned to the GBF. During the slide event, UNDP will launch the new BIOFIN methodology which integrates a decade of lessons learnt on designing Biodiversity Finance Plans from more than 41 countries. New countries will be using this tool and other available to develop a policy and institutional review on biodiversity finance, estimate biodiversity national expenditures, assess harmful and positive incentives, estimate finance needs and develop a national biodiversity finance plan, including through the joint program between UNDP-BIOFIN and the GEF  "Umbrella Program for National Biodiversity Plans". 

The side event will be hosted by UNDP, the GEF, CBD Sec and partner countries like Belize, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Zambia among other partner countries.
