This high‑level side event will highlight the role of national education systems in advancing food security and the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). It will examine and present pathways for implementation related to education, learning, capacity transfer, and South–South cooperation, including through innovative and transformative home‑grown school meals approaches. Convened by a consortium of key stakeholders, the session will feature practical examples from countries such as Brazil, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and others (TBC), demonstrating how biodiversity underpins resilient food systems and how these models operationalize the nexus between food security, education, and biodiversity. The discussion will emphasize how such approaches can be leveraged to accelerate progress on the GBF and the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
