IPBES leadership and experts working on assessments currently underway - on the monitoring of biodiversity; on spatial planning and ecological connectivity, both expected in 2027, and on the second global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services, to be launched in 2028, will provide details about scope, progress being made on these assessments and the significance of their reports, once published, for implementation and monitoring of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and other global commitments.

Beyond the assessments, IPBES experts will also explore other workstreams of the Platform, from scenarios and models to the inclusion of Indigenous and local knowledge, supporting all KMGBF implementation approaches.
