The effective implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework requires integrated approaches that recognize the multiple values of wildlife for biodiversity conservation, food security, livelihoods, cultural values and sustainable development.

This side event will bring together members of the Collaborative Partnership on Sustainable Wildlife Management (CPW) and key stakeholders to discuss practical experiences, tools and partnerships that support the sustainable management and use of wild species and contribute to the implementation of the Framework at national, regional and global levels.

The event will showcase examples of collaborative approaches developed by CPW partners, including work on sustainable wildlife management, human-wildlife coexistence, legal and policy frameworks, knowledge products, capacity development and technical cooperation. It will also provide an opportunity to reflect on progress made in implementing the CPW Work Plan 2026–2028 and explore opportunities for strengthened collaboration in support of Parties.

The programme will be developed jointly with CPW partners and is expected to feature contributions from international organizations and other stakeholders engaged in advancing sustainable wildlife management under the Convention on Biological Diversity.
