The implementation of the Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) strategy relies on several operational pillars that facilitate global and national action to achieve the targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF)

The Secretariat plays a key role in implementing the CEPA programme, providing Parties, organizations, and the public with guidance and key messages to ensure effective and appropriate communication around biodiversity. This work translates into the creation of content (amplified through institutional networks), the organization of the CEPA Fair during COPs, the celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity, the development of manuals, toolkits, and more.

In addition, the Secretariat facilitates networks and connections among key actors, experts, and partners to boost biodiversity-related work.
