On the occasion of the Nature Protection Day in Croatia and the International Day of Biodiversity, the State Institute for Nature Protection, and the Public Institutions of National Parks, Nature Parks and Public Institutions in the areas of the counties that are responsible for the management of protected natural areas in the Republic of Croatia have responded to the invitation of the Ministry of Culture The Nature Protection Authority to mark this day. With the aim of raising public awareness of the need for nature protection, a special program was held on May 18 in the park of Maksimir Park, which was attended by numerous participants, organized by the State Institute for Nature Protection and the Public Institution Maksimir. Also, in public institutions of National Parks, Nature Parks and County Public Institutions, organized events were organized.
On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity and Nature Protection Day of the Republic of Croatia, the Department of Urbanism, Physical Planning and Environmental Protection of the City of Dubrovnik, in cooperation with the Public Institution Lokrum, organized an ecological creative activity on Lokrum Island. On that occasion, an exhibition of the works of elementary schools from the City of Dubrovnik was opened on the theme of the creative contest "Plastic is not Fantastic!". At the opening of the exhibition there were about 200 students with teachers and they were awarded with diplomas for their great work. The pupils have once again demonstrated that they are involved in the conservation of biodiversity and nature from with the aim of establishing sustainable development. It’s never too early to start with good habits!
