A week long event beginning on May 20th till May 27th with Health in Nature ,Yoga ,Dusk Chorus , Bat Walk on International Day of Biological Biodiversity,School workshops, Nature Photography, Floral Id workshop walks, Botanical Art and Go Wild Nature Camp Friends of Merlin Woods collaborate with the communities and many different organisations to raise awareness and importance of wildlife in our urban woodland, to celebrate its beauty and benefit to us all

National Biodiversity Week is all about connecting people with nature. It’s about communicating the importance of biodiversity and motivating people to play their part in protecting it. It’s also about entertaining them, showing the fun and wonder that can be found in nature, and inspiring people to learn more, see more, do more. Over the course of nine days, from 19th – 27th May 2018, over 50 FREE, family-friendly events will be taking place all over Ireland celebrating our diverse species and habitats. The annual Bealtaine Living Earth Festival runs from 19th to 27th May 2018. This is the 14th year of Ireland's biggest biodiversity and natural heritage festival which is a cooperative partnership of visitor centres, public bodies, NGOs, environmental organisations and interested individuals in the South East of Ireland. The Bealtaine Living Earth Festival festival celebrates our natural heritage and environment and highlights the relationship between sustainability, biodiversity and natural resources. Visitors enjoy the outdoors while learning about the rich natural heritage on their doorstep. About 50 events across Ireland's South East - interactive workshops, talks, guided walks and more - encourage participants to spend a little time outside, to explore the beautiful nature in the region and to think about biological diversity in a constructive and useful way.
