The Japan Biodiversity Fund (JBF) activities are diverse and far-reaching. Initially, the Fund focused on raising awareness of the Nagoya (COP 10) outcomes and supporting the revision of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) as requested by
Decision X/2. In the second half of the decade, the focus shifted to implementation support and capacity-building. Emphasis was placed on multi-year projects, responding to Parties’ needs for capacity-building programmes, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and supporting the development of a Secretariat-wide strategy for capacity-building.
