Bioland Tool

The Bioland Tool is designed to provide an immediate solution for Parties facing technical barriers in establishing their national Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) sites and linking them to the Convention’s central CHM. The tool can be used by countries to rapidly establish a basic operational national CHM website that can provide various information services including knowledge management, sharing, and exchange.

The JBF supported the development and enhancement of the Bioland tool and capacity building in the form of workshops and online support to help developing countries establish their national CHMs rapidly and with little prior capacity. Today 36 national CHM sites have been created with the tool and another 24 are currently in a test phase.
