Technical and Scientific Cooperation

In line with decision 16/9, members of the Informal Advisory Group are invited to provide comments and advice on practical steps to enhance the implementation of the clearing-house mechanism and the knowledge management strategy.

You are requested to provide your input by 11 May 2026.

As noted in 03-CHM-KM-Progress-Report.docx (III/B/2/para 7) "the main CHM portal does not provide access to most CBD meeting documents or data submitted through the ORT and there is a gap between the information in the CHM and ORT and Bioland".

While these information gaps remain, it seems like it would be best to make this clear to users. For example, adding a banner at the top or bottom of the CHM site, noting that the information presented may not be up to date, and where to look for the most up-to-date information. Thinking particularly of cases like the interactive map on the CHM (https://chm.cbd.int) not showing the most recent NBSAPs or National Reports.

I'll not go into the report itself. There are some small errors that I'll send to the secretariat.

I agree with Karel that it is strange that the CHM portal still shows :
- The 6NR for national targets and progress assessment
- No maps from the ORT on updated NBSAPs
- French Guiana black as a country where as it is part of France so it should be blue

Thanks to Karel and Han for starting the discussion. I have made some comments on the report and attach that it here. As I missed the first day of the last meeting, my apologies if any of these points raised in the attached were covered during the meeting.
