GLOBAL BIODIVERSITY COMMUNICATION FORUM (GBCF-5) DAY

WWF and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity jointly organized the 5th Global Biodiversity Communications Forum (GBCF-5) at the UN Biodiversity Conference on 10 December 2022. Communication experts were invited to discuss methods for awareness raising and behaviour change for communication and education. The objectives of GBCF-5 were to:

  • Discuss communication strategies with regard to their awareness-raising
  • and behavioural change aspect
  • Exchange on communication campaigns of various actors
  • Broaden knowledge of participants
  • Understand scientific state-of-the-art on behaviroal change
  • Enhance behavioural change components based on scientific evidence in
  • communication campaigns

The global forum was a key element of WWF Germany’s project “Scaling up Biodiversity Communication for Achieving Aichi Target 1”. The project aimed to raise awareness on the values of biodiversity and the steps people can take to conserve and use it sustainably.
