The use of pesticides in agriculture has been increasing with time as the demand for food production increases with the increase in population. Historically, pesticides have been known as economic poison and can be categorized into insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and plant-growth-regulators based on their activities and target groups. Globally, herbicides account for approximately 80 per cent of all pesticides used.
