The environmental impact assessment is a procedure to assess the possible consequences of a project or activity on the environment and human health. The assessment should take into consideration the direct, indirect and cumulative impacts of the project or activity in relation to ambient air, water systems, landscape alterations, soil, ecosystems, biodiversity, and the impacts on society. A statement in regards to the results of this assessment must be submitted to the designated authority, which must include amongst other elements, an assessment of the risks and a description of the measures envisaged to prevent or reduce the impact.
