Priority Actions

2012 - 2015

Expand the protected area network to 11.5% of the total land area and ensure that at least 10% of each major ecosystem/habitat is protected by 2020.
2014 - 2015 $1,000,000
2015 $100,000 1.1) Identify opportunities for Swaziland to strengthen participation in existing trans-boundary protected landscapes
2014 $600,000 1.2) Analyse land use change over past 15 years and update protected area, biodiversity and ecosystems data including land use, land cover, land degradation and forest inventory with special attention given to identify opportunities for new protected area
2014 $200,000 1.3) Develop protected area guidelines for applicable categories of protected areas
