Forest Biodiversity

Programme

  • Background
The CBD addresses forest biological diversity through the expanded programme of work on forest biological diversity which was adopted in 2002 by the Conference of the Parties during the course of its sixth meeting. The programme of work is centered on three key elements: reducing the threats to forest biological diversity, the creation of an institutional and socio-economic environment that will facilitate the conservation and sustainable use of forest biological diversity, and the assessment and monitoring of forest biodiversity.
