Report of the AHTEG on indicators for the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020
As you will recall, in decision X/7, the Conference of the Parties requested the Executive Secretary to convene a meeting of an Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group (AHTEG) on Indicators for the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and to report to the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) prior to its fifteenth meeting. This meeting was convened from 20 to 24 June 2011 in High Wycombe, United Kingdom with the generous support of the European Union and I am pleased to inform you that the report of the meeting has been made available at https://www.cbd.int/doc/?meeting=AHTEG-SP-IND-01. I would like to invite you to send any comments you may have on the report at your earliest convenience but no later than 15 October 2011.

Request to submit views on the scientific and technical aspects of the provisional framework of global headline indicators for assessing progress towards the achievement of the 2010 Biodiversity Target
To facilitate the scientific and technical evaluation of the current set of indicators and draw conclusions for biodiversity monitoring beyond 2010, the World Conservation Monitoring Centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP-WCMC) is carrying out an online survey, which will contribute information for an expert workshop on the post-2010 framework of indicators being organized jointly by UNEP-WCMC and the CBD Secretariat and hosted by the Government of the United Kingdom from 6-8 July 2009 in Reading, UK.
