Japan Biodiversity Fund

The Japan Biodiversity Fund (JBF) was established by the Government of Japan when it assumed the COP Presidency during the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP10), held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan in October 2010.

The goals of the JBF are to support developing country Parties to:

  1. Implement the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and its Aichi Biodiversity Targets;
  2. Revise their National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAPs), in the framework of the Strategic Plan; and
  3. Strengthen their capacity to implement the Convention.
