The Japan Biodiversity Fund (JBF)
was established by the Government of Japan when it assumed the COP Presidency during the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP10)
, held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan in October 2010.
The goals of the JBF are to support developing country Parties to:
- Implement the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and its Aichi Biodiversity Targets;
- Revise their National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAPs), in the framework of the Strategic Plan; and
- Strengthen their capacity to implement the Convention.
